Personal Information
Kia Jane
Kia is of Japanese origin and means "Precious Child"
Jane is Hebrew in origin and means "of God's Grace"

Neither is easy to live up to!

Born in Arizona, I have lived in Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Texas, and Michigan. Eight schools were attended in twelve years: some claim this is how I developed my extraversion -- I was always the new kid!

Since 1997 I have been happily married to David Neumann.  We share our home with our two black-and-white cats.

We live on the southern shores of Lake Superior in the gorgeous Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Whether we're greeted each morning by snow or sun, we love it here!

Kia Jane and David

Kia and David
Loving life, living love.

Tidbits

David is a certified elementary teacher who loves the Packers and NASCAR.

Kia is a college teacher who loves cheese and classic movies.

It's a match made in heaven (as long as there are two t.v. sets)!

Anxiety
Hides behind lace curtains
Silent, still, scared to breathe.
If she moves, draws attention,
Makes herself visible,
The flush and flood of terror
And flashbacks of Worry
Will set the clocks forward
To her future
Which flies low, close to the water,
Hovering near the place between
Flight and Flustered.

Hunched, holding delicate threads,
And peering through the half-inch glass
That would shatter with the
Tap of a finger,
She looks without looking
And hears her heart in her ears.
She freezes and melts
Simultaneously,
Becoming
Gelatenous statue.
From the outside,
She appears to be
Curious, Shadow and Fearless,
But from her place behind the curtain,
She trembles and holds onto the
Tatted loops,
Knowing she will die or
Escape into panic
Which is on loan
From those whose
Windows are
Not Covered.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Cheese (especially from Wisconsin), Adam Ant, James Spader, Andrew McCarthy, Schlotzsky's, Mexican food,  musicals, and rainy/snowy days.
